Exclusive: LG guarantees upgrade to Android Jelly Bean

LG will guarantee an update to the next full version of Android on all of its 2012 handsets, as long as the phone can support it.

LG's UK Product Manager Shaun Musgrave confirmed this upgrade guarantee which forms part of LG's commitment to "offering the best smartphone experience".

It's expected that the update will be to version 5.0 of Google's operating system which has been nicknamed Android Jelly Bean.  read more »

LG's latest batch of 3D TVs comes with a bezel of just one millimetre as the home entertainment industry continues to strive towards a bezel-less world at CES 2012.

Following Samsung's 2011 lead, LG has scythed the bezel down to a frankly outrageous 1mm width. For comparison, Samsung's 60D8000 LED Smart TV has a 1.5cm border.  read more »

LG announces four home theatre systems for CES 2012

LG has announced four new home theatre systems will be shown off at CES 2012 including the LG BH9420PW which comes with the Korean giant's latest 3D sound technology.

The LG BH9420PW incorporates LG's proprietary '3D Sound Zooming tech' which will apparently, and intriguingly, match the sound with the location and movement of the on-screen 3D images.  read more »

For instance, not content with introducing passive 3D TVs to the world this year, the Korean brand has now also hit the street with PenTouch technology, as sported by the 60-inch 60PZ850T and the 50-inch 50PZ850T under scrutiny here.

As its name suggests, PenTouch uses a 'touch-screen' technology in conjunction with a special 'pen' to allow you to interact directly - as in, physically - with the 50PZ850's screen.  read more »
