Samsung Freeview and Freesat HD LED TV combi coming next month

Samsung's latest LED TV range comes with Freesat HD and Freeview HD tuners and PVR recording via USB.

Samsung D8000

Due for release in March, the D8000 series comes in 40, 46 and 50in sizes with a 60in model set to follow this summer.  Framed by a 5mm bezel, its LED-backlit plasma panel is Full HD and 3D-ready and 2D video can be converted to 3D.

The TV is compatible with Samsung's new slimmer, lightweight and supposedly more comfortable 3D active shutter glasses which use Bluetooth instead of infra-red.

There's PVR recording to external drives via USB and media streaming from DLNA networked devices with WiFi built-in.

Web TV functionality include YouTube, LoveFilm, Facebook, Twitter, and open web browsing with Flash support.  More applications can be downloaded from an online App store.

A touch screen remote control is supplied featured dedicated buttons for online features. Control applications can also be downloaded for Android and Apple devices including iPhones and the TV can stream video and audio from inputted sources to the remote control screen or to Android-equipped tablets and smartphones.

Pricing has yet to be announced.
