These days, German high-end brand Loewe is synonymous with the sort of sharp design and minimalist aesthetic that is so perfectly summed up by its forthcoming Individual 46 Compose 3D TV (left). But that wasn't always the case.
Back in 1931, on the Loewe stand at the 8th Berlin Radio Show, Manfred von Ardenne unveiled the world's first fully-electric television to the public. And while it was certainly a milestone in the development of television technology, you'd be hard pushed to call von Ardenne's creation an aesthetic marvel. To mark the 80th anniversary of this proud moment in AV history, we thought we'd let you have a look at this remarkable invention.
